The role of Tukija is to provide opinions on clinical trials and amendments to research plans in Finland, as well as on the establishment of a biobank. Tukija also provides an opinion on the medical use of human organs, tissues and cells when they are to be used in a clinical trial. Tukija acts as an expert on research ethics issues related to clinical trials, participates in regulatory cooperation and promotes public debate on clinical trials.
