• issue opinions on clinical trials and their changes (including combined trials of drugs and devices and clinical trials using biobank samples);
• issue opinions on the establishment of a biobank and their amendments;
• issue an opinion on the medical use of human organs, tissues and cells when they are to be used in a clinical trial;
• To act as an expert on research ethics issues in clinical trials, to participate in cooperation with authorities and to promote public debate on clinical trials.
